Audi reports charged with the development of the Volkswagen Group, SUVs
15th December 2010
Hell has no fury like a woman despised, but Earth has no competition greater than rivalry. With nine marques in the Volkswagen Group umbrella, things can get a little competition between the brands, especially if platforms and technologies are integrated and subsidiaries chose to develop it. But Porsche entered the battle as the 10 boxes and things that much more heated.
Reports recently emerged that Porsche Audi was chosen for the platforms that will support sports cars for the entire group as well as luxury sedans in order to make Ingolstadt no doubt reeling from the defeat. But now a follow-up reports indicate that Audi will in turn, charged with developing the next generation of sport utility vehicles for the whole group, the next Porsche Cayenne included.
The program will reportedly center around a common modular platform that underpin the next generation Touareg, Q7 and Cayenne, but also extends to the development of the Q5-based Porsche Cajun. While the latter is currently in the works, recently both the Touareg and Cayenne replaced, so that the subsequent replacements would still be years off.
The move may seem a bit odd considering that Volkswagen and Porsche, both SUVs make up for more than its Audi Q7, and Audi is the all-wheel drive game for longer than not. The decision was reportedly unanimous among the various sections, though Porsche was quick to point out that the final development of its SUV will be conducted by Porsche to ensure that the vehicles they drive as customers would expect.
Vehicle manufacturers are always looking for that shade of green to increase their ships, and Audi is ready to offer some of the reports of the leading shock of the machine to fall. 2012 Audi A8 is offered in four well-blended gasoline piston engine mated to an electric motor. A8 show may be a hybrid version of Audi drive six-piston gasoline, two of which should include instead of driving experience compared to the 372 V8 engine power, 2.4-liter is available to give.
Move the plunger from a smaller number of automakers to start preparing for the development of stricter criteria for the café. There is an abandoned Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW see is already moving to more efficient engines. Mercedes S400 hybrid has already started to copy the leading four-piston model - the 2.2-liter turbodiesel four-piston model S250 CDI. BMW has a different take on how they produce more efficient cars, luxury sedan. Instead, in order to reduce the number of cylinders, the BMW include electric motors, engines, and six of his eight-piston engine, so there are no plans for four piston engines, and sits in the number of engine bay - 7

I have done this for years with Mercedes AMG sport their own train. BMW has collapsed in the end to the X5 M and X6 M.. Porsche is expected even in a game with a Cayenne Turbo and Cajun future. And Audi is not ready to follow suit, according to reports from all around the pond.

ver the years, thousands of cars with custom paint jobs have littered the floor at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. But almost all of them arrive already painted and ready to k’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, however, Street Concepts will be showing off a special Hyundai Genesis Sedan that will arrive at the show with a clean pearl white finish. Over the course of the show, which lasts practically all week, Detroit artist Courtney Mason will apply a new graphic design to the car using special paint pens to create a unique look.

Aside from the paint, the rest of the theme is black chrome with 22-inch wheels and assorted trim pieces getting said finish. Did we mention the carbon fiber roof panels, a big ol’ set of Brembo brakes, and the Magnaflow exhaust system? Check out the complete press release after the ju

mply “good enough.” The Korean automaker has already committed to big plans for Sonata, as it has promised direct injection and turbocharging for improved efficiency. A quick look at some well camo’d photos of a 2011 Sonata mule shows that improvements could come in design as well.
The most eye-catching dimension of the spy photo pictured above is a sleek, Volkswagen CC-like greenhouse. Hyundai even seems smitten with the ten-spoke wheel design of the VW, as the two alloys look like fraternal twins. Beyond the four-door coupe look, the 2011 Sonata mule is very well camouflaged, although you can see what appears to be some interesting surfacing above the front wheel well that could give it a beefier-looking stance.
Up front, the front grille and headlamps are exposed. The grille doesn’t appear to be dramatically different than what we we see on today’s Sonata, but there is no hiding the dynamic new shape of the mule’s headlamps. The high-tech lights sweep around the corners, giving the impression that the 2011 model will sport a more rounded front end than the 2009 model.

utomaker has come a long away. What began as a budget-oriented brand for those who couldn’t afford the higher-priced products from Japan has evolved into a credible contender in virtually every segment that it competes. In the early days, the primary emphasis was on affordable motoring, sometimes at the expense of long-term durability. Today, it’s a different story. From the Accent to the Genesis sedan, Hyundai still offers affordable products, but the decades-old connotations of “cheap” have been largely laid to rest.
With the introduction of the Tiburon, Hyundai finally dipped its toe into the sports-car segment, but as nice as it was, it simply didn’t have the chops to play with the big boys of the performance set. Enter the Genesis Coupe. Hyundai’s rear-wheel-drive two-door is the second salvo in the automaker’s bid to flesh-out its premium Genesis sub-brand, while at the same time taking direct aim at a field of established competitors ranging from the Ford Mustang to the Infiniti G37. Does the Genesis have what it takes to play the game? We spent a week with a 3.8-liter Track model to find out.
When the engineers at Hyundai decided to seriously tackle the performance coupe segment, they didn’t mess around. Although the Genesis coupe shares no resemblance to the similarly named sedan, many of thurse, those materials don’t necessarily affect functionality. Among other things, opting for the Track version of the Genesis means the car rides on a set of attractive 19-inch alloys with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A rubber. With the available grip, it’s important for a driver to be able to sense what’s happening at the pavement during cornering and here, the hydraulically assisted rack and pinion steering comes through, providing good feedback and adequate feel. The only flaw we found with the steering was during a comparatively low-speed slalom run at the track. Because the 3.8-liter V6 features decent low-end torque, sometimes there’s no need to down-shift. However, the steering assist is engine-speed sensitive and if it’s lower than expected, a series of quick left-right-left maneuvers could result in running out of boost and a sudden increase in effort. Fortunately, this isn’t generally an issue out in the real world andmping rates, thicker anti-roll bars, a Torsen differential and the Brembo brake package. When we become King, all cars will come equipped from the factory with Brembos and the Genesis continues our lust for the throne. The four-piston mono-block calipers don’t flex under braking, so the primary source of mushiness we’ve experienced with other coupes is thankfully missing from the Hyundai.
Out in California or Nevada, where the roads are smooth and relatively free of frost heaves and pot-holes, the track suspension works great. In the North-East, it’s an issue. On neglected stretches of tarmac, the Track model will simply be too stiff for some as a comfortable daily driver. Every little (or enormous) imperfection is transmitted straight through to your body and even a simple run to the store can become tiresome. Unless you live somewhere with properly constructed roads, or plan to spend plenty of time driving at the track, opting for the base or grand touring models might be a better choice if the Genesis is going to be your only
s had substantial success with two-rotor, three-rotor, and four-rotor cars, and private racers have also had considerable success with stock and modified Mazda Wankel-engined cars, see video clip.
Mazda’s competition debut was on October 20, 1968 when two Mazda Cosmo Sport 110S coupes entered the 84 hour Marathon de la Route ultraendurance race at Nürburgring, one finishing in fourth place and the other breaking an axle after 81 hours. The next year, Mazda raced Mazda Familia R100 M10A coupes. After winning the Singapore Grand Prix in April 1969 and coming in fifth and sixth in the Spa 24 Hours (beaten only by Porsche 911s), on October 19, 1969, Mazda again entered the 84 hour Nürburgring race with four Familias; only one of which finished, winning fifth place.
In 1976, Ray Walle, owner of Z&W Mazda, drove a Cosmo (Mazda RX-5) from the dealership in Princeton, New Jersey, to Daytona, won the Touring Class Under 2.5 Liters at the 24 Hours of Daytona, and drove the car back to New Jersey. The Cosmo placed 18th overall in a field of 72. The only modifications were racing brake pads, exhaust, and safety equipment.
After substantial success by the Mazda RX-2 and Mazda RX-3, the Mazda RX-7 has won more IMSA races in its class than any other model of automobile, with its one hundredth victory on September 2, 1990. Following that, the RX-7 won its class in the IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona race ten years in a row, starting in 1982. The RX7 won the IMSA Grand Touring Under Two Liter (GTU) championship each year from 1980 through 1987, inclusive.
In 1991, a four-rotor Mazda 787B (2622 cc actual, rated by FIA formula at 4708 cc) won the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race outright, the only non-piston engine ever to win at Le Mans, as well as the only team from outside Western Europe or the United States. This led to a ban on rotary engines in the Le Mans race starting in 1992, which was eventually rescinded. After the race, the winning engine was publicly dismantled for internal examination, which demonstrated that despite 24 hours of extremely hard use it had accumulated very little wear.
This followed a decade of class wins from other Mazda prototypes, including the 757 and 767. The Sigma MC74 powered by a Mazda 12A engine was the first engine and team from outside Western Europe or the United States to finish the entire 24 hours of the Le Mans race, in 1974. Mazda is also the most reliable finisher at Le Mans (with the exception of Honda, who have entered only three cars in only one year), with 67% of entries finishing. Mazda will return to prototype racing in 2005 with the introduction of the Courage C65 LMP2 car at the American Le Mans Series race at Road Atlanta. This prototype racer uses the Renesis Wankel from the RX-8.
Mazdas have also enjoyed substantial success in World Land Speed competition, SCCA competition, drag racing, pro rally competition (the Familia appeared in the WRC several times during the late ’80s and early ’90s), the One Lap of America race, and other venues. Wankel engines are barred from international Formula One racing, as well as from United States midget racing, after Gene Angelillo won the North East Midget Racing Association championship in 1985 with a car powered by a 13B engine, and again in 1986 in a car powered by a 12A engine.
